Infiniti G37 Coupe gets AWD, called G37x
Nissan will soon bring to the North American market its all-wheel drive Infiniti G37x sports coupe. Set to compete with the Audi A5 Quattro and the BMW 335xi, the new coupe will be shipped with a 7-speed automatic transmission with Drive Sport (DS) Mode and Downshift Rev Matching and the ATESSA E-TSO AWD system.
In its press release, Nissan says that the 2009 Infiniti G37x will be available with a standard 330hp 3.7-liter VQ-series V6 engine with VVEL technology. Compared to the last year's model equipped with a 3.5 liter powerplant, the new car will be 22hp more powerful but will produce 1 lb-ft less of torque peaking at 269 lb-ft (364 Nm).
Nevertheless, the G37x is able to reach the 60mph mark in only 5.1 sec, a good half-second better than its direct competitor, the BMW 335xi.
The coupe will also feature Scratch Shield paint self-healing clearcoat finish as a part of standard package, quite a nice touch, right?
