Ultima GTR Supercar Breaks its Own World Record

Channel4 says that British Ultima Sports Ltd. has ruined its own world record for the acceleration-braking sequence. It took their street-legal Ultima GTR sports vehicle only 9.4 seconds to accelerate from zero to 100mph and then brake to zero again.







The ultimate asphalt-scorcher accelerated from zero to 62 in 2.6 seconds, from zero to 100 in 5.3 seconds and braked to zero from 100 in just 3.6. Ultima's director Richard Marlow did the stunt. He says that no traction control or ABS was employed during the record-braking ride.

The Ultima GTR720 used to break the world record is a street-legal sports car equipped with standard G50 transmission from Porsche and 720bhp Chevrolet V8 engine. Mr. Marlow says that the GTR is faster than much more expensive McLaren F1 LM or Ferrari Enzo supercars.
