2009 Suzuki Alto to be built in India
The new Suzuki Alto mini car, which is targeting the European market with its crazy gasoline prices, will be produced in India at Maruti Suzuki India's Manesar manufacturing facility. The first cars will be assembled in October 2008 and will arrive to dealerships by December 2008.
Although the new Suzuki Alto doesn't even come close to the stunning (okay, it wasn't actually stunning, but it was impressive anyway) A-Star concept car introduced at the New Delhi Auto Expo back in January, the car definitely beats the 2009 Ford Ka in terms of exterior design.
Set to become Suzuki's new global model, the new Alto will feature a Euro 5 compliant 1.0-liter aluminum petrol engine. The company doesn't say anything about its power rating but notes that the car is pretty clean, emitting only 109g/km of CO2 gas.
We will reveal more information after the October 2 debut of the car. Stay tuned.
