2010 Pontiac G8 ST: superior performance and towing capacity
The 2010 Pontiac G8 ST (the ST stands for Sport Truck here) will feature the same 361hp V8 engine that the Pontiac G8 GT is motivated with. Sporting a 3500lb towing capacity and delivering the 0-60mph acceleration time of only 5.4 seconds, the Sport Truck will at the same time be one of the most fuel efficient vehicles in its class, GM says.
The extra fuel economy comes courtesy of GM's Active Fuel Management (aka displacement on demand), which lets the huge V8 engine shut down half of its cylinders in certain driving conditions, and a new six-speed automatic transmission.
The 2010 Pontiac G8 ST shares its platform with current Pontiac G8 RWD sport sedan, but at the same time features a reinforced body and a 73.9-inch cargo bed that has 42.7 cubic feet of cargo space and can carry a payload of 1,000 pounds (453 kg).
The truck will sport a set of 18-inch aluminum wheels fit with P245/45R18 tires and is equipped with four-wheel disc brake system, featuring 12.64-inch front and 12.76-inch rear rotors.
