2010 Cadillac SRX crossover SUV previewed
Although the oil prices are going north and may dip well below the $100 mark before the end of the year, the market for the huge body-on-frame truck-based SUVs will keep in the years to come. With its 2010 Cadillac SRX crossover, GM bets that the future belongs to lighter, fuel-sipping car-based SUVs.

Similar in styling to the recently revealed Cadillac Provoq Concept, the 2010 Cadillac SRX will be the first major restyling of the model, launched in 2004. In its press release, General Motors says that the new SRX will be the premium brand's global model and will be sold worldwide starting mid-2009.

The 2010 SRX will share its front-wheel drive GM's Theta platform with the 2007 Opel Antara, 2008 Saturn Vue and the upcoming 2010 Saab 9-4X. I guess there is a good chance that there will even be a Two-Mode hybrid version of the vehicle if the OPEC has its way.
