2008 Lamborghini Estoque Concept officially revealed
Although looking somewhat unbalanced, the new Lamborghini Estoque Concept is a great example of how a super-performance sedan (or is it a super-four-door sports coupe?) may look like. At least, Porsche will have much to think about.
The four-door car craze is raging on. First (many years ago, actually) it was Maserati Quattroporte, and then it was Aston Martin Rapide, which still seems to stay in a prototype version. Soon we will see the four-door Porsche Panamera and a Koenigsegg's supercar of the same body type. And now there is Lamborghini Estoque front-engine, four-door concept.
At this stage, the car looks like it was drawn in a hurry by at least three groups of designers living in three different countries. However, there is still hope that by the time the production version is ready, it will feature more balanced and original design and will not look like an Alfa-Romeo with Lambo's front bumper.
Sources say that the car may go on sale as early as 2010 and will be motivated by a choice of three powerful engines, including a supercharged V8, a hybrid drivetrain, and even a V12 oil-burner outsourced from the recently introduced 2009 Audi Q7 V12 TDI.
Hopefully, more details will follow soon.
