Mercedes CLS-based Brabus Rocket sedan
With its new Mercedes CLS-based Rocket, Brabus once again claims the title of maker of the world's fastest sedan. During test runs in Southern Italy, the new Brabus Rocket broke its own record by 12.2 km/h reaching a top speed of 362.4 km/h.
This stunning performance is provided by the powerful twin-turbo V12 engine from the latest Mercedes Benz 600 models. Being 'optimized' with a special crankshaft, larger cylinder bore and forged pistons, the engine now features the maximum power output of 730 hp produced at 5,100 rpm and a peak torque of 1,320 Nm, electronically limited to 'mere' 1,100 Nm achieved at 2,100 rpm. The engine is mated with a modified five-speed automatic gearbox and the Brabus locking differential.
The engine is, in fact, so powerful that the heavy four-passenger sedan reaches 100 km/h barrier in just four seconds, and accelerates from zero to 200 km/h in 10.5 seconds, and 0 to 300 km/h in 29.5 seconds. Car's top speed is limited to 350 km/h to ensure its street legal operation.
