The international carmaking conglomerate GM has finally unveiled its new pair of entry-level 2007 Opel/Vauxhall Corsa compact hatchbacks: a coupe-like three-door version that was probably designed with young singles in mind and a family-oriented five-door vehicle equipped with a completely new FlexFix retractable storage system that gives you the ability to carry up to two bicycles without the risk of damaging your car’s paint.

In its press release, GM says that the least expensive 1.0-liter 60 hp three-door Opel Corsa is priced just €10,990, which is even lower than the price of the outgoing model.

A five-door hatchback will have a slightly higher base price of just €11,675.

Regrettably, the FlexFix system comes only as an option and will set you back for additional €490 (the price of a nice bike!) when ordered separately.

A list of options also includes halogen Adaptive Forward Lighting system (AFL), which makes the head lights to swivel from side to side as you steer or automatically and also adjusts slightly upward at highway speeds to give you an extra 10 meters of visibility at night. The AFL, which adds to a sticker price €390 and, as the company claims, is the first such system available in this class of vehicles.

The Corsa Edition version comes at a price of €12,435 for a car with 1.0-liter engine and is expected to became a bestseller.

For €770 extra one can order a more popular 1.2-liter petrol engine featuring 80 hp of maximum power. Standard equipment here includes air conditioning, front power windows, radio remote control central locking, the double load floor DualFloor, an asymmetrically split rear seat back, and head curtain airbags as well as active head restraints in front.

There are also such options as large panorama sunroof (plus €790), ESP (plus €350) and maintenance-free diesel particulate filters (will cost you extra €525).

As a promo, GM offers a package of radio-CD30 mp3 with steering wheel remote control and 16-inch alloy wheels for €600, which is a savings of €1100.
