Renault Sport Technologies has officially unveiled its new baby – the 2007 Renault Clio Cup racer based on the popular street legal hatchback. Featuring an even more aggressive styling, the vehicle is still good enough for your daily driving routine.
The car is equipped with a stock normally-aspirated engine, that nevertheless features some minor enhancements, such as new engine management system, airbox and exhaust system.
Together, these little modifications increase the 2.0-liter engine’s power output up to 205 horsepower.
Of course, the main increase in performance comes from reducing the vehicle’s weight that not only increases its top speed and slashes acceleration time, but also makes it attack corners more aggressively.
As one might expect, the new 2007 Renault Clio Cup comes with racing seats, rollcage, digital dashboard and data acquisition system, as well as (sure) a six-speed manual transmission with steering wheel-mounted gear shifter that will making overtaking on a busy road even less dangerous.
All-in-all, the Renault Clio Cup will cost you about $37,000.
