2008 Dodge Challenger to match the concept car
The production version of the 2008 Dodge Challenger retro-styled muscle car will be as close to the concept vehicle as it is technically possible. They’d better hold their promise.
At a press conference event given on July 27, 2006, Chrysler’s vice-president and chief designer Tom Tremont assured the writing public that literally no one is going “to be able to tell the difference” between the concept and the real car.

Gosh, only heavens know how much time they will have to keep the car in a wind tunnel to keep that retro-styled front grille from getting the car airborne at speeds above 100mph.
As the Detroit News Online implies, Chrysler’s engineers won’t have to die behind the drawing boards, since the pony car was from the very beginning designed off the existing LX platform, shared by Chrysler 300 and Dodge Charger.
Many other Challenger’s specifications were also taken from the real world, so Chrysler don’t have to wait till new technological processes arrive to make production possible.
The reborn Challenger, which is going to compete against Chevrolet Camaro, Ford Mustang and Pontiac G8, will likely appear in its production form at Detroit’s auto show in January.
