The best –and, perhaps, the only– Mercedes’ off-roader, the famous Mercedes-Benz G-Class 55 AMG SUV now features even more oomph under its angled hood.


Equipped with a 5.5-liter V8, capable to produce a maximum of 500 horsepower and generous 700 Nm of maximum torque, the vehicle accelerates from zero to 62 mph in just 5.5 seconds, which is 0.1 sec better than the previous model.

The maximum speed is the same electronically limited 210 km/h.

The engine’s power has been constantly shared among all four wheels whit a low-range gearbox, assisted with the 4ETS electronic traction system, ESP and differential locks.

Mercedes-Benz states that the G 55 AMG Kompressor will come to future customers with a set of 18-inch AMG allow wheels painted in titanium grey with 285/55 R 18 wide-base tires.

The list of standard equipment now includes bi-xenon headlights, oval fog-lamps with that must-have cornering light function and ISOFIX child seat attachments in the second seat row. The G 55 AMG Kompressor is painted with scratch resistant paint finishes, based on nanotechnology.

The G 55 AMG Kompressor SUV may be ordered now for €113,332 (incl. 16% VAT) with the first vehicles delivered in September 2006.
