The Ingolstadt company will soon start selling their new 2007 Audi S3 boiling-hot performance hatchback.

Powered by a 2.0-liter TFSI engine and sporting an intelligent Quattro transmission, the car may become a strong competitor to the great and terrible Volkswagen Golf GTI hot hatch.

The engine in question delivers up to 265 bhp peaking at 6000 rpm and its maximum 350 Nm of torque is available between 2500 through 5000 rpm.

This power is just enough to provide the car with acceleration from zero to 62 mph of just 5.7 seconds and electronically limited speed of 155 mph. The S3’s engine is not only powerful, but is also fuel-efficient, too: the car consumes only 9.1 liters of gas for every 100 kilometers (that’s about 25 mpg).

Outside, the new Audi S3 features the same… err… controversial single-frame grille with chrome coating, as well as a front spoiler with larger air intakes. The rear skirt features a platinum gray diffuser, as well as a couple of S-style oval tailpipes also with chrome finish.

As if that’s not enough for an average S3-class buyer, some aluminum has been added to door mirrors. The roof spoiler is painted in body-color.
