2007 Mercedes-Benz R63 AMG 4Matic and R280 CDI 4Matic crossovers
Both 2007 MY R-Class vehicles feature permanent all-wheel drive transmissions, rear-view cameras, actively ventilated front seats and the new LINGUATRONIC voice-control system.
Still struggling to find out what kind of market niche the new R-Class — Minivans? SUVs? Crossovers? What are they exactly? — can be put into, Mercedes-Benz is making the expensive people movers even more luxurious, offering new engines and interior options.

The most interesting is, of course, the range-topping 2007 Mercedes-Benz R63 AMG 4Matic.
The car features new 6.3-liter V8 engine, capable to produce a maximum of 510 horsepower and 630 Nm of torque and providing the heavy van with stunning (for the class) 5.0 seconds zero to 60 mph acceleration. The vehicle’s top speed is electronically limited to quite impressive 155 mph (250 km/h).
The R63 AMG comes equipped with electronically adjustable leather sport seats with multicontour function, and enhanced chassis, featuring double wishbone suspension, anti-dive, AIRMATIC air suspension system with level control, ADS, torsion bar stabilizer and hydraulic dual-circuit braking system with vacuum booster and Brake Assist.
The 2007 Mercedes-Benz R280 CDI 4Matic features more civilized 190 hp turbodiesel with common-rail fuel injection system with maximum rated torque of 440 Nm, and 0 to 60 mph acceleration of 9.8 seconds.
The engine is mated to a seven-speed automatic.
