2007 Hyundai Tiburon coupe
It seems that the Korean car manufacturer has accidentally leaked an official photo of its upcoming 2007 Hyundai Tiburon sport-looking coupe.
Although there is no technical specifications list or some kind of press release the picture speaks for itself.
There is still an impression that the front and the rear of the car were drawn by different teams of designers who coordinated their efforts by the means of good old mail service, overall the new vehicle leaves good impression.
At least, Tiburon’s new exterior looks much more appealing to a European eye.
From the technical standpoint the 2007 Hyundai Tiburon will come out practically unchanged, except for the addition of such features as a tire pressure monitoring system and stability control.
UPDATE: Okay, we now have some info regarding the next version of the car. According to official specifications that we have obtained, the car will be delivered in four versions starting with a rather anemic Tiburon GS that features a 2.0-liter fourbanger and ascending up to a pretty much impressive Tiburon SE that will bring you a 2.7-liter V6 engine (probably, a version of the powerplant that we have seen in their new Santa Fe mid-size crossover SUV).
While the former version offers a nice fuel economy rating of 20 / 28 mpg in city/highway cycles, the latter, while being definitely thirstier at 16 / 24 mpg, treats you with 172 hp of power and more than 180 lb-ft of torque. It also sports a pretty nice zero to 60 mph acceleration of some 7 seconds. Well, it appears that the new Tiburon not only looks like a sports car, but is in fact quite sporty little beast.
