Renault Megane Renaultsport 230 F1 Team R26 hot hatchback will soon be launched to monetize a fraction of Renault F1 team’s success during the last couple of seasons. Although there are still a couple of races to go, there is already a very good chance for the French car maker to repeat its last year’s success when Renault won the 2005 Manufacturers title in the most prestigious world racing series.

The R26 will replace the latest Renaultsport 225 Cup special edition Megane.

Renault Megane Renaultsport 230 F1 Team R26 will feature a limited slip differential and a 2.0-liter 230 hp engine, which is 5 hp more powerful than the one installed on the previous version.

The car will also receive specially tuned ‘Cup’ chassis as well as more efficient and dependable Brembo brakes.

The engine boasts a peak torque of 310 Nm and is mated to a six-speed manual gearbox, capable to provide the hot Megane with zero to 62 mph acceleration of 6.2 seconds (0.1 faster than the 225 Cup) and cover 1000-meter street start in just 26.6 seconds.

In Britain, the new Renault Megane Renaultsport 230 F1 Team R26 will be available for order at the end of the month and will cost only £19,570. The vehicle’s insurance group rating is 17.
