Mercedes-Benz Concept Ocean Drive convertible
The long-awaited and much-over-hyped Mercedes-Benz Concept Ocean Drive extra-large convertible, which is based on the S-Class luxurious sedan, has at last being revealed.
Although it is not yet clear, whether we’ll ever see a production version of the car (it would have been a great alternative to the ultra-luxurious Bentley Azure T convertible), the job deserves some attention.

The overall body-styling of the Concept Ocean Drive can be seen on these 3D-renderings (no, I don’t think these are real photos).
As to the concept’s technical specs, Mercedes claims that the vehicle is based on the current S600 with LED-headlights and bigger radiator grille added and its roof and B-pillars removed.
I wish these modifications were applied to the actual S600, so it would look much more elegant and stylish.
Besides the usual for the S-Class top-level safety-equipment such as Brake Assist PLUS, PRE-SAFE brake system (in combination with radar-based DIS-TRONIC PLUS) and the PRE-SAFE anticipatory occupant protection system, the Concept Ocean Drive also features innovative AIRSCARF neck-level heating system, available for all four passengers, so they can “enjoy top-down motoring even in the colder months of the year”.
