The diesel-powered 2008 Cadillac CTS mid-size luxury car will soon arrive to the European market.
The vehicle, which is meant to compete against the Mercedes-Benz E-Class and BMW 3-Series, will be available with a choice of three engines, including a fuel-efficient 2.9-liter V6 turbodiesel power-plant.

Citing Cadillac Europe’s spokesperson Dick Braakhekke, Automotive News is reporting that the company expects the diesel-powered CTSs to account for “at least 50%” of all CTS sales.
The sport sedan will be sold with an engine, sourced from Italy’s VM Motori company.
Presently, VM Motori sells its 2.8-liter common rail turbocharged engine to Chrysler, which then uses the motors to power its Jeep Liberty CRD.
The CTS will probably be motivated by a slightly larger 2.9-liter V6 turbodiesel engine capable of producing some 250 horsepower and enormous 406 ft-lb (550 Nm) of torque.
