Smart ForTwo will cost $12,000 in the U.S
Smart USA is taking preorders for the long-awaited 2007 Smart ForTwo super-compact vehicle. The entry-level “Pure” Smart will get you rid of only $12,000. But you’ll have to leave a $99 deposit first to convince the German car maker’s representative that you are truly serious about getting this European beauty.
The Smart ForTwo “Pure” model comes almost naked. For the money, you’ll get standard five-speed automated manual gearbox, central remote lock, 2-spoke leather steering wheel, and radio-ready console.

A better-equipped middle-range Smart ForTwo “Passion” will be available with a panorama roof, alloy wheels, air conditioning with climate control, three-spoke leather sports steering wheel with shift paddles, power windows, electric and heated side mirrors, and AM/FM radio with CD player and will set you back for some $14,000.
The top of the range Smart ForTwo “Passion” convertible will cost $17,000.
All cars are available in Metallic Blue, Metallic Silver, Deep Black, Crystal White, Light Yellow, or Metallic Red for the main body panels, and black or silver for the safety cage. Too bad, the interior will only be available in grey.
Anyway, be patriotic, drive 60 miles per gallon!
