The new Bimmer 5-Series will get BMW’s latest straight-six engines not only delivering more horsepower per cubic inch, but also featuring better fuel economy.
Extra mileage per gallon of gas comes extremely handy now, when gasoline prices are expected to go further North right to the four dollars per gallon mark.
The engines are mated to a series of new transmissions, including but not limiting to new six-speed manual and automatic gearboxes as well as the latest Sport Automatic Transmission with shift paddles.
The six-bangers may be ordered with BMW xDrive permanent and variable AWD technology.
The list of amenities and safety features includes electric Active Steering, BMW Night Vision, and Head-Up Display.
There will also be Active Cruise Control featuring a Stop & Go functions as well as Lane Departure Warning.
