2008 Dodge Caliber SRT4
Chrysler has finally revealed the price stick for the new Dodge Caliber SRT4 sporty crossover.
Equipped with a powerful 2.4-liter turbocharged engine, an electronically tuned Brake Lock Differential and Getrag DMT-6 six- speed transmission, the SRT4 will start at $22,995 (including $560 destination), which is $195 more than the new Mazdaspeed3 wagon costs (depends on a market, though). Does it look like a bargain to you?

The 2008 Dodge Caliber SRT4 will probably have a hard time competing against such established players as the aforementioned Mazdaspeed3, Volkswagen Golf R32, Mitsubishi Lancer EVO X and Subaru WRX STi.
So, to make its life product cycle easier, Chrysler’s engineers have equipped the crossover-like hatchback with a 285 hp, 265 lb-ft turbo-charged engine, 19″ painted wheels, SRT sport seats, a racing-style instrument cluster, and an optional Reconfigurable Display (RCD), with exclusive “performance pages” that provide lateral and longitudinal G-force, 1/8-mile and 1/4-mile acceleration time and speed, 0-60 mph time and braking distance.
Standard equipment like the Chill Zone cooler, illuminated cup holders, 12-volt power outlet and sliding armrest with cell phone holder round the picture.
The new Dodge Caliber SRT4 will be available with such popular options as Kicker/SRT Livin’ Loud audio system ($1,190), sun roof ($795) and 19 x 7.5-inch polished aluminum SRT wheels ($400).
Well, Scooby STi still looks like a better choice for me.
