Okay, this is perfectly logic. Europe is becoming such an increasingly crowded place so even those rich and famous have to abandon their longer than life limousines in favor of something more compact and easier to park. But the car, however small, has got to be luxurious, too. Here comes Brabus with its modified Smart ForTwo supermini.
The new pair of Brabus Smart Fortwo Xclusive is based on the new generation of Smart vehicles.
Equipped with a reengineered 98 bhp (plus 14 bhp over the standard version) three-pot turbo engine, the cars feature superb fuel efficiency (they consume only 5.2 liters of gas per 100 km, which is about 0.3 liters more than the original turbocharged Smart Fortwo and equals 45 mpg) and do not emit too much greenhouse gases, limiting the level of CO2 to 124 g/km.
With 9.9 seconds of zero to 100 km/h acceleration time the BRABUS Smart ForTwo Xclusive is definitely not a rocket ship but it will do for the city and the highway were the car will reach its 155 km/h (100 mph) speed limit.
The BRABUS Smart ForTwo Xclusive comes equipped with a sporty appearance package, including H7 projection headlamps, a front spoiler with enlarged air inlets, side skirts and a rear apron, all color-keyed.
Inside, there is leather upholstery; heated seats; standard head/thorax side airbags; leather-effect instrument panel with aluminum-look trim components and BRABUS stainless steel sports pedals.
The kit is complemented with polished “Monoblock VI” alloys with wide tires in sizes 175/50 R 16 at the front and 225/35 R 17 at the rear, wider rear wheel arches, a sports exhaust system with centrally positioned dual tailpipes and tuned suspension lowering the vehicle by 10mm.
In Germany, the vehicles will be available as either coupe or a cabriolet and are priced as follows:
Smart Fortwo Brabus Coupe: €16,490
Smart Fortwo Brabus Cabrio: €19,430
Smart Fortwo Brabus Xclusive Coupe: €19,490
Smart Fortwo Brabus Xclusive Cabrio: €22,430
The price tag looks kinda’ heavy, since the original Smart Fortwo starts at exactly €7,000 below at meager €9,490. So, it’s definitely for the reach and famous crowd. Sigh…
