2009 Audi Q5 SUV: a new photo set

The German brand has just delivered a fresh set of official photos of the recently introduced 2009 Audi Q5 compact SUV.

Designed to compete against such players as Acura RDX and 2007 BMW X3, the new sport utility vehicle looks just like your average Audi without any interesting detail to catch a second glance.

Initially, the car will be offered with a 240 hp, 368 lb-ft, 3.2-liter six-cylinder TDI engine mated to a six-speed Tiptronic automatic gearbox. Later on, there will also be available a 2.0-liter gasoline engine and another diesel power plant.

Customers in the United States will be offered with a single 3.2-liter 270hp V6 engine. According to the German company, the 2010 Audi Q5 will also be equipped with more powerful 3.0-liter twin-turbo diesel V6, which is powering much heavier Audi Q7 SUV.

Anyway, the 2009 Audi Q5 seems to be well-built and has good proportions. Its interior, although bleak and uninspired, leaves an impression of that “Quadratisch. Praktisch. Gut.” German quality and class.
