Right after presenting a tuned version of the Peugeot 407SW station wagon, German tuner Irmscher reveals its new appearance kit for the Peugeot 4007 — a rebadged version of the 2007 Mitsubishi Outlander SUV.
The Irmscher Sports Pack, Peugeot informs, includes nice-looking Star Design 19-inch alloy wheels fitted with Pirelli 235/45 x R19 tires, a body-colored roof spoiler, front lower spoiler that looks like a real SUV skid plate, but probably not as functional when it comes to protection of your engine, and twin tailpipe finishers.
If bought separately, these items would set you back at healthy £2350, which makes the Sport Pack a pretty nice option if you are into this kind of blingy stuff.
Available on the European market since July 2007, the Peugeot 4007 is the French brand’s attempt to jump into the “city crossover” bandwagon. Currently supplied with a choice of two engines -a 2.2-liter DW12 HDi turbodiesel and 2.4-liter straight-four mill working on gasoline- the car is built by Mitsubishi in the Netherlands and is basically identical to the Citroen C-Crosser and the 2005 Mitsubishi Outlander base model.
The crossover may be a good choice if you are after a Japanese car with nice French badge and don’t actually plan to cover its tires in mud. If you are into some dirtier business, you should probably look in some other way. Perhaps, you should take a look at the 2007 Hyundai Santa Fe, which is cheaper, quite comfortable on a paved road and, surprisingly, has more grunt in the off-road department.
