German tuning specialist Carlsson has prepared its new tuning kit for the facelifted 2008 Mercedes-Benz SL-Class roadster. Besides a mild power upgrade, the kit also offers a very tasteful aerodynamic package that not only enhances the vehicle’s aerodynamics at high speeds, but also actually makes the vehicle look even better than the original.

Implanting new ECU unit into the original 5.5-liter V8 engine and adding a four-pipe exhaust system, Carlsson increases its performance by 47 horsepower from 388 to 435 hp.

The torque has also been increased to 600 Nm @ 6000 rpm (442 lb-ft) and now the tuned car reaches 100 km/h mark in only 5.1 seconds and has a top speed of 293 km/h (182 mph).

Of course, there is also a subtle body kit so that the Carlsson CK50 can always be easily distinguished from the original SL500.

The kit includes new length-adjustable front spoiler, electro-polished grille inserts, rear diffuser with air conduction system and rear spoiler for the SL-Class with AMG package.

With the help of the C-Tronic suspension kit, the cars default ground clearance is lowered by 30 mm although it can be automatically heightened if the road is not so good as on a German Autobahn.
