As we have already reported, the iconic Tesla Roadster EV electric vehicle will come to Europe next year and the company’s Norwegian rep is already taking orders for the first iteration of the expensive EV equipped with soon to be deprecated two-speed gearbox and a 248 hp motor.

Just like it is normal for a company with IT roots, there is already a 1.1 version of the car in the works. Europeans will get it, too.

The next version of the much overhyped electric vehicle will be equipped with a more powerful 300 hp @ 13,000 rpm electric motor and a one-speed transmission.

Together, these two enhancements will significantly improve the electric sports car’s performance shaving off about 1.7 seconds of its initial not so impressive 5.7 seconds of acceleration time.

What’s even more impressive, is that owners of Tesla Roadster 1.0 (or is it still a Web2.0-style Beta of the car?) will get a free hardware upgrade when the new gearbox and motor are ready.

Pricing still remains the same: $99,000 for the American model and €99,000 for the European version.
