2008 Peugeot 207 Le Mans special edition

Peugeot is getting ready to bring its 2008 Peugeot 207 Le Mans special edition hatchback to a car dealership near you. Although there will be no changes under the vehicle’s hood and, despite its loud name, it probably won’t qualify for a shot at Le Mans 24-hour endurance race, the vehicle still looks nice and will almost surely allow the French manufacturer to sell an extra bunch of compact hatches.

Of course, the new special edition didn’t just come out of the blue. In fact, this version of 207 commemorates the brand’s recent triple-win at the 2008 24 hours of Le Mans race where whole three of the French brand’s Peugeot 908 HDi FAP sports prototypes came ahead of the dreadful Audi R10 TDI diesel-powered juggernauts.

Given the winner’s total time of 3 hours and 18.5 seconds, those extra five seconds that Audi took to cross the finish line don’t seem particularly devastating for the German car manufacturer, but the fact that all three Peugeot sports cars came first, kinda does.

It is reported that the car will be built in a limited run of only 2000 units.

The Peugeot 207 Le Mans will differ from the normal Peugeot 207 by means of new front bumper with Shadow aluminum grille and Black Chrome headlights with AFS.

Additional classy elements include a set of body side moldings, bumpers strips and sideview mirror housings, all of them painted in body color.

Of course, there is also an inevitable racing stripe painted across the hood, roof and ending at the rear spoiler and a set of Le Mans logos.

Standing on multispoke 17-inch Pitlane aluminum wheels, Peugeot 207 Le Mans is available in both Banquise White and Obsidien Black colors.

Inside the car you’ll find front and rear bucket seats as well as RC front and rear mat covers, as well as aluminum gearshift lever knob, pedal assembly, foot rest and door sill.

The vehicle will be available with a choice of three engines, namely: 1.6 HDi 16v 110hp DPFS, 1.6 HPT 16v 150hp, and the range-topping 1.6 HPT 16v 175hp with a chrome-plated dual exhaust pipe.
