Already having a 722hp engine upgrade kit for the Mercedes Benz SLR McLaren 722 in its shop, the American super-tuner eventually came with another, even more extreme, tuning program for the German super-coupe.

Since the car is almost as complex as a modern jet fighter, even top-tier tuners seem to have difficulties delivering a comprehensive upgrade program for the beast. This new tuning package, for example, consists of a reprogrammed ECU (engine control unit) and a ‘less restrictive’, as they put it in their fresh press release, exhaust system that lets you squeeze extra 18hp of the SLR McLaren’s 5.4-liter supercharged V8 engine increasing the total power output to respectable 740hp.

Frankly speaking, I am not really sure that you will immediately notice this modest (in fact, less than 2.5 percent) power increase while accelerating from a traffic light, let alone on an Autobahn, but, like an expensive speaker stand for an audiophile, the fact that your car is a trifle more powerful will certainly warm you heart on a long winter night.

The kit may be ordered together with the new Renntech Signature 10-spoke, 3-piece performance wheels that make the car look even sexier than the original.

By the way, if you don’t have enough financial means to buy the SLR McLaren 722, you can still consider getting yourself a less powerful (but also less pricey) 2008 Mercedes-Benz CLK 63 AMG Black Series sports sedan. You see, the Florida-based tuning specialist has a very nice power upgrade for it, too, increasing its capacity to an almost mind-blowing 550 horsepower and 700 Nm of torque!
