The new Subaru Impreza WRX STI 380S concept vehicle will be officially introduced to the general public at the current British Motor Show in London.

Subaru representatives have already confirmed that a limited edition of the vehicle may actually see the light before the end of the year if there will be enough interest from prospective customers.

The 380S index means that this version of the Impreza WRX STI is powered by an engine rated at 380 metric horsepower, which is an equivalent of 279.5Kw or almost 375hp.

Normally, the 2.5-liter inline four-cylinder engine produces only 170hp, but this one, according to Subaru’s press release, was “completely rebuilt” by Prodrive’s engineers.

The company didn’t elaborate, but I think that the British tuning specialists really did use a certain amount of home-bred magic to squeeze those 205 extra horsepower from the tiny powerplant. Must have equipped it with a supercharger or something like that, I suppose.

The car itself features new aero kit as well as upgraded exhaust system and suspension. It will roll on a set of silver or gold-colored 18.85-inch BBS light alloy wheels fit with 245/40 tires.

Well, I really hope that this competitor to the VW Golf R32 and the upcoming Ford Focus RS 300hp super-hot hatchback will really make it to the road.

That is really going to be a hit.
