2009 VW Caddy 4Motion AWD van to sport Haldex transmission
The 2009 VW Caddy 4Motion van, which is going to feature the famous Haldex all-wheel drive system, will be officially presented to the general public at the upcoming IAA Commercial Vehicle Show set to open in Hanover, Germany in February, 2009.
The company says that the AWD Volkswagen Caddy 4Motion will be motivated by a four-cylinder TDI diesel engine with standard particulate filter.

Mated to a six-speed manual gearbox, the turbocharged oil-burner can deliver up to 105 PS, returning an impressive fuel economy of 6.6 liters per 100 km in a combined cycle, which roughly translates to 39.2 mpg.
The list of standard equipment is promised to be pretty much exhaustive, including front fog lights, multilayered glass protecting the vehicle’s interior against infrared radiation, a set of 15-inch wheels (looks like they are made of cast iron or something like that) wrapped in 195/65 R15 tires.
Inside the car, you will also find a multifunction display on the dashboard.
The VW Caddy 4 Motion can also be ordered with an upward-opening rear hatch or split opening doors in the rear.
The commercial van also features such enhancements over its front-wheel drive sibling as new propshaft, an exhaust system adapted to the rear final drive and propshaft, and a newly designed fuel tank. There is also a set of reinforced longitudinal members in the rear part of the car.
Volkswagen doesn’t reveal the vehicle’s acceleration and elasticity at speeds between 80km/h and 120km/h but says that Caddy’s maximum speed is limited at 164km/h, which is more than enough for a commercial van.
Pricing and availability will be announced later next year.
