Fiat 500-based Castagna Tender Two EV
The Italian coach-builder Castagna has revealed its 2008 Fiat 500-based Castagna Tender Two EV.
Although officially called a concept vehicle, the car’s electric drivetrain is nevertheless a real thing and there is a good chance that we will see a production version of the car by the end of this year.

The EV has a top speed of 130km/h (80mph) and a range of some 120 to 140 km (75 to 87 miles), which is more than adequate for a daily driving if you live on a small Caribbean island.
With a standard household outlet, its batteries will take about four hours to recharge to 80 percent capacity.
As to the concept’s body and trim, it is far from practical, indeed. For starters, guys from Castagna threw away the 500’s doors, rear hatch and the roof, replacing it with a safety cage.
Went away the original interior, too. It was replaced with new weather-proof seats, a canvas bimini top and lots of teak wood, just like on a real yacht.
