Land Rover Freelander 2 TD4_e eco-friendly SUV presented in Paris
The new Land Rover Freelander 2 TD4_e compact SUV, currently on exhibit in Paris, is Land Rover’s first off-roader sporting an intelligent engine start-stop technology.
Available soon on all 2009 Freelander 2 TD4 models, the green technology will help significantly increase the vehicle’s fuel economy and reduce its CO2 emissions.
Equipped with the engine start-stop technology, the 2009 Land Rover Freelander 2 TD4 will have its mileage bumped from generous 37.7 mpg (6.24L/100km) to even more impressive 41.3 mpg (5.7L/100km). The level of greenhouse gas emissions is also reduced by about 8 percent to 179g/km.
Land Rover says that the Freelander 2 TD4_e features more durable absorption glass-mat battery and an “enhanced” 2kW starter motor.
