Caterham Cars has finally revealed its 2009 Caterham Superlight R300 model.

Set to complement the popular Superlight R400 and R500 rockets on wheels, the R300 is powered by a less powerful 2.0-liter, 175hp four-cylinder Zetec engine, but is still capable to brake the 60mph barrier in only 4.5 seconds.

Weighing only 515kg, the 2009 Caterham Superlight R300 sports impressive 339 bhp per ton ratio feeling itself comfortable in the company of Chevrolet Corvette C6 Z06 and the likes.

Definitely not as good as the might-blowing 1000 bhp per ton of the Caterham RST-V8 Levante supercar but quite adequate to the asked price of £27,995 for the factory-built model.

The Sunday car comes equipped with a six-speed manual transmission, dry-sump oil system, limited-slip differential, Stack dashboard instruments and even a keyless ignition system.
