At the upcoming motor show in Geneva BMW is going to introduce an entry-level version of the popular MINI Clubman compact wagon.

Currently available only in a Mini Cooper Clubman, Cooper S and in a diesel-powered Cooper D trim, the stretched version of the hot hatchback will soon be offered with an anemic 95hp 1.4-liter four-pot engine mated to either a six-speed manual or an automatic gearbox.

There will also be a number of green gizmos, including a regenerative system and BMW’s new engine start-stop technology providing for a much better fuel efficiency over a standard model. In its press release, the company promises a combined cycle fuel efficiency of 52.3 mpg. The level of CO2 emissions is also limited at humble 130g/km.

The company doesn’t say anything specific about the 2009 MINI One Clubman’s performance, but still insists that it will be as impressive as “that of the entire MINI Clubman range.”

The car will make its official debut on 03 March 2009 at the International Geneva Motor Show and will arrive to Mini’s UK dealerships on 28 March 2008.
