2010 Fisker Karma plug-in hybrid revealed at NAIAS 2009
Fisker Automotive has revealed a production version of its Fisker Karma luxury plug-in hybrid.
Touted as an eco-friendly competitor to such conventionally powered super-cars as Aston Martin Rapide, Porsche Panamera and the Mercedes-Benz CLS, the upcoming exotic car will have a hard time proving of being worthy of its hefty $87,900 price tag.

So far, Karma’s main problem seems to be its horribly (and I mean horribly) cheap interior, or, which is more correct, a total lack thereof. It seems that guys from Karma Automotive were more interested in the vehicle’s gorgeous exterior design and just didn’t have enough time to make a matching interior job. Well, I hope the car’s interior will be completely reworked before the actual production starts.
Under the hood, the production-ready 2010 Fisker Karma has a pair of electric motors with a total power output of 408hp and an available torque of mind-numbing 959lb-ft (1300 Nm).
Together with its auxiliary 2.0-liter Ecotec direct-injection turbo engine, these will take only 5.8 seconds to accelerate the car from zero to 60 mph and will provide it with a top speed of 125 mph.
Its pack of lithium-ion batteries is good for about 50 miles if you don’t press the ‘gas’ pedal too hard but the extra juice is also supplied by the internal combustion engine.
The 2010 Fisker Karma will be assembled by a Finnish car-maker Valmet with first bunch of vehicles delivered to happy customers in November, 2009. The start-up’s management hopes to annually sell as many as 15,000 cars with about half of them staying in Europe.
