Honda and its British in-house tuning specialist Mugen Euro have prepared and are going to start selling a spiced up Honda Civic Type R MUGEN super-hatch.

With total production run limited at only 20 vehicles, the R MUGEN is going to become a super-exotic hatchback. According to the Japanese company, the limited edition vehicle will be “hand-built” at Mugen’s production facility in Northampton, UK, “with customers receiving a unique, involved experience” at the time of building the car.

The vehicle will be powered by a 2.0-liter i-VTEC engine featuring new ECU, new camshafts, a re-tuned intake system, new pistons and a custom stainless steel exhaust system and MUGEN airbox. Together, they increase the engine’s maximum power output by 20 percent to 240PS. Its max torque also gets increased by 10 percent.

The Honda Civic Type R MUGEN will also feature new limited slip differential, upgraded suspension and new, ultra-light forged alloy wheels tipping the scales at meager 7.85 kg each.

In the U.K., the car will cost £38,599 on the road.
