The 2009 Hummer H3T SUT, the first pick-up truck in GM’s mighty family, has been unveiled at the Dallas Auto Show on April 2nd. Presented in a state where everything is big, the vehicle is predictably huge and not particularly practical. Still, designed to impress, the new SUT does its job surprisingly well.
General Motors has officially confirmed that the first 2009 Hummer H3T sport utility truck will roll off the assembly line in Shreveport, La. in the third quarter of 2008.
General Motors has confessed that it is being silently developing a new Duramax V8 oil-burner to power its charismatic 2010 Hummer H2 SUV as well as the pair of Chevy Silverado and GMC Sierra pickup trucks.
General Motors is about to introduce to the local market another member of the growing H3 family — the top-notch 2008 Hummer H3 Alpha. Although, like Jeeps, the Hummer series was initially designed to be primarily a superb vehicle for off-road adventures, the truck is more and more often considered a luxury item and those shelling tens of thousands of dollars for the legendary badge and the signature chrome grille expect the vehicle to be on top of competition, in all meanings of the word.
The American car manufacturing juggernaut GM and a soft-top maker brand ASC of the same origin have joined their forces in order to turn an off-road-capable but still way too metrosexual Hummer H3 mid-size SUV into an open-top lion-hunter’s dream. Initially introduced couple of years ago as a concept vehicle, the compact SUV has finally been green-lighted for mass production. In the process, the vehicle dropped the rather pretentious “Cosmos” part from its badge.
An anonymous source in General Motors has confirmed the group’s plans to finally create a competitor to the legendary Jeep Wrangler off-roader: as simple as truth and as rugged as a tank. It looks like oversized and overweight SUVs rolling on tarmac on their 22-inch ultra-low profile rubber are not sexy any more.
General Motors announced yesterday that the new 2007 Hummer H3x mid-size SUV will be available in August at a base price of $38,065. Although, for a vehicle of this sort, the price seems a bit steep, GM tries to sweeten the deal with some extra standard equipment that you would otherwise have to buy either from third party sellers, or get from Hummer itself, which usually means that they would try to sell you a cheap chromed bull-bar at a price of the Golden Gate Bridge.
