It’s official: the long-awaited Mini Cooper Clubman five-door hatchback will come to dealerships in the beginning of 2008. Although, compared to other vehicles in the niche, the choice of trims and engines is limited at best, both versions of the car are very different (at least when it comes to power and fuel efficiency), it will be quite easy to sell the car to both the tree-huggers of San-Francisco and driving enthusiasts from the East Coast.

BMW Mini
It is reported that the brand new 2008 Mini Hatch hatchback will not only get a refreshed face, it will be a lot greener, too. It is still not clear whether you will see a noticeable improvement in fuel economy without changing your driving habits (let’s face it, BMW’s Mini is sold as a fast and agile vehicle for a young, energetic driver), but it will at least help the German car maker to achieve better average EPA rating for the cars that it sells in the United States.

Mini Cooper EV
The American Hybrid Technologies company is reportedly working on an electric-powered version of the Mini Cooper small hatchback. The idea of turning an essentially performance vehicle into a treehugger’s dream seems kinda self-defeating, but the example of such ambitious start-ups like, say, Tesla gives me a reason to believe that the Mini EV will be not only energy efficient but will also kick some ass when it will come to acceleration time.

2007 Mini Cooper S
BMW has just announced pricing for the upcoming 2007 Mini Cooper S model. Although the car is built on a significantly modernized platform and is designed to be cheaper to manufacture (BMW, for example, uses its Prince engine that was developed jointly by BMW and PSA Peugeot Citroen to lower costs), the new Mini will be slightly more costly in comparison with the outgoing model, where the most significant price difference is shown on the least expensive Mini Cooper.

Mini Cooper S JCW Competition Edition
A limited lot of Mini Cooper S JCW Competition Edition super-hatchbacks has arrived to Canadian dealerships. According to official information, the new Minis are based on the stock Cooper S model, but have their maximum power output increased by around 35 hp with similar increase in peak torque.
