First presented in March 2008 at the Geneva motor show, the 2008 Smart ForTwo Special Edition Limited Two will arrive to the U.K. market on the first day of September. As usual, the British customers will receive a number of the most popular features in a single, economy-priced package.
It looks like the year 2010 will indeed be groundbreaking for the automotive industry, as major players -Volkswagen, Chevrolet and BMW among them- are going to introduce their first mass-market electric-powered vehicles.
The 2008 Smart ForTwo Cabrio ultra-compact has just received a very nice-looking appearance package from the Austrian tuning specialist Konigseder. If your beloved one likes wearing watches by Chopard and carries a Dolce&Gabbana handbag, you should really consider ordering this package, getting her little ForTwo to a local shop and surprise her with a radically changed vehicle.
Okay, this is perfectly logic. Europe is becoming such an increasingly crowded place so even those rich and famous have to abandon their longer than life limousines in favor of something more compact and easier to park. But the car, however small, has got to be luxurious, too. Here comes Brabus with its modified Smart ForTwo supermini.
Smart USA is taking preorders for the long-awaited 2007 Smart ForTwo super-compact city car. Soon to be available in three (well, maybe two and a half) trim, the vehicle will start at just $12,000 for the the entry-level “Pure” Smart version. However, there is a catch: you’ll have to leave a $99 deposit first to convince the German car maker’s local representative that you are truly serious about getting this tiny European beauty.
While those (incredibly) rich and (not particularly) famous guys standing behind the Project Kimber are trying to make up their minds whether to resurrect the Smart Roadster in the UK or somewhere else (if at all), some creative folks there in Germany are trying to monetize this limbo situation by bringing a Do It Yourself kit that will help you to turn your old Roadster into a (sort of) your own version of the car. Using the same Smart ForTwo super-mini as a donor, you can make yourself a retro-styled roadster that looks cool and clearly won’t break the bank if you’ll manage to do the bulk of the work on your own.
