2009 VW Tiguan tuning kit from B&B

2009 VW Tiguan tuning kit from B&B

Although the 2009 VW Tiguan compact crossover SUV offers more than adequate dynamic for everyday commute, German tuner B&B apparently decided that you can never get too much oomph for a car like this. And, given how dull the original bodywork of the small SUV looks, it is actually great that the German tuning specialist didn’t forget to offer a very organic body kit in the process.

2010 VW Touareg Hybrid to sport 26mpg fuel economy

2010 VW Touareg Hybrid to sport 26mpg fuel economy

The 2010 VW Touareg Hybrid mid-size SUV equipped with a V6 TSI engine and a 52 hp electric motor will feature whopping 26mpg (9.05l/100km) fuel economy in the combined cycle, besting even the oil-sipping 2009 Touareg V6 TDI diesel-powered model that was first unveiled at the LA Auto Show last November. Currently existing only as a prototype, the vehicle will be shown in flesh either simultaneously or fairly soon after the second generation of the popular luxury off-roader will be officially revealed to the public.

VW has finally unveiled pricing for the next iteration of its main moneymaking machine. As most manufacturers, the German car manufacturer will raise the cost of the new car, but will try to keep the increase slightly lower the official inflation rate. At least, it is reported that in Germany, the entry-level version of the 6th-generation 2009 Volkswagen Golf will cost €16,500, which is about €200 more expensive than the current Golf.

2009 VW Jetta TDI

Looks like Volkswagen will finally start selling its fuel-efficient diesel-powered 2009 VW Jetta TDI sedan and Jetta TDI SportWagen station wagon models on the North American market. Of course, the public perception of the technology is still marred by stinky, fuming motors from the 1970s and the American motorists are still lagging whole decades behind Europeans when it comes to understanding how efficient and clean a modern oil-burning can be, but I have feeling that constantly rising fuel prices will educate public faster than dozens of hours of educational videos.

2002-2009 Volkswagen Touareg by Hofele Design

The German tuning specialist Hofele Design has just revealed its new appearance kit that suits both older and the face-lifted version of the VW Touareg crossover SUV ranging from 2002 to 2009 model years. While the body kit doesn’t look particularly inspiring (I mean, the Touareg is a truck that was deliberately made to appear dull, putting all this plastic bling on it is like decorating a royal piano with polyurethane fretwork), there is still something about it that just makes me want to reconsider.

Volkswagen finally put its Polo GT-Rocket special edition small hatchback on to assembly line. Sharing components of Volkswagen Golf Mk5 and Volkswagen Touran, current iteration of the commercial VW Caddy panel van is extremely popular among small entrepreneurs, as well as (in select countries) among the folks who try to save some money on taxes. However, the base vehicle is still not versatile enough for the people who want a car that can haul cargo on business days and move a family and their pets on weekends. With the new 2008 VW Caddy Maxi Life, Volkswagen has finally created a vehicle capable of sitting on two stools at a time.
