Although the 2009 VW Tiguan compact crossover SUV offers more than adequate dynamic for everyday commute, German tuner B&B apparently decided that you can never get too much oomph for a car like this. And, given how dull the original bodywork of the small SUV looks, it is actually great that the German tuning specialist didn’t forget to offer a very organic body kit in the process.
The 2010 VW Touareg Hybrid mid-size SUV equipped with a V6 TSI engine and a 52 hp electric motor will feature whopping 26mpg (9.05l/100km) fuel economy in the combined cycle, besting even the oil-sipping 2009 Touareg V6 TDI diesel-powered model that was first unveiled at the LA Auto Show last November. Currently existing only as a prototype, the vehicle will be shown in flesh either simultaneously or fairly soon after the second generation of the popular luxury off-roader will be officially revealed to the public.
The German tuning specialist Hofele Design has just revealed its new appearance kit that suits both older and the face-lifted version of the VW Touareg crossover SUV ranging from 2002 to 2009 model years. While the body kit doesn’t look particularly inspiring (I mean, the Touareg is a truck that was deliberately made to appear dull, putting all this plastic bling on it is like decorating a royal piano with polyurethane fretwork), there is still something about it that just makes me want to reconsider.
Well, it looks like this is a kind of pan-European day of limited editions. Earlier today, we mentioned 2008 Toyota HiLux TRD and the 2009 Ford Focus special edition models, and now here comes the new 2008 VW Golf GTI Pirelli warmed-up hatchback.
German tuning specialist JE Design has just revealed an upgrade kit for the 2007 VW Touareg. Clearly designed with a city dweller in mind, the new tuning package doesn’t contribute to the vehicle’s off-road capabilities, but in return makes it a lot more potent on an Autobahn.
The 2008 VW Golf GT Sport hot hatch will replace the outgoing pair of Golf Sport and GT appearance packages. Although the number of press images the GP Sport is still limited to just 1 (one!), it is clear that the new package looks quite sporty, although it is truly that it lacks, um, consistence with its set of lightweight aluminum wheels singing out of tune with black head lamps and radiator grille.
The 2007 Volkswagen Polo GTI hot small hatchback is now available to the British customers. While the vehicle will clearly not stun you with mind-numbing acceleration and its claimed maximum speed hardly rivals that of a mid-size crossover SUV, the new warmed-up Polo may be a very nice choice for a young person living in a densely populated urban area and planning to buy their first brand new car.
The 2007 Volkswagen Crafter LT3 commercial van was officially presented at the 2006 Commercial Vehicle Show in Birmingham, UK. Soon to be offered in different versions (those including upscale people haulers to serve as corporate shuttles or even work on public commute lines), the vehicle has quite an impressive payload capacity, as well as offers a nice range of turbodiesel-powered engines that can be mated with an optional ‘manumatic’ gearbox.
British customers are now able to order the 2007 Volkswagen EOS convertible coupe for as low as £19,385.
For the money, local motorists will get a car equipped with a pretty large (for a European Golf-class vehicle, of course) petrol-powered engine and a lot of standard equipment, which is normally available only as a part of a pretty expensive optional package. And, although Great Britain is certainly not the first country that comes to mind when you think about climate with dry weather, lots of sunny days and long winding roads that go along beaches covered with sand the color of gold and washed by waves the color of turquoise, the Brits can now, too, travel in style at an affordable price.
