Greenspan was right: the weak dollar is good for the American automakers. Designed by a Dutch automobile designer Henrik Fisker who is also responsible for the gorgeous BMW Z8 and the compact Artega GT sports cars, the new vehicle enjoys an unprecedented for an emerging brand level of public and media attention. In fact, the interest is so high that the company plans to introduce the car to the European market, too, when the vehicle is ready.

It appears that we will soon see an entry-level disel-powered trim added to the recently revealed 2008 Seat Altea Freetrack model range. Built on VW’s new A5 (PQ35) platform, the car shares a number of its elements with current VW Touran and 2007 Skoda Octavia Scout, which makes me assume that an optional 4WD system that makes this light and roomy family hatch a potent off-roader, is in fact the well-known Haldex Traction job with computer-controlled clutch centre coupling. Now, that’s nice.
