At the North American International Auto Show in Detroit, the legendary tuner Shelby American -the brand was founded in California more than half a century ago and, since then, introduced a number of custom-made cars that can be called nothing but iconic (like, really iconic: people actually worship them)- has revealed a souped-up version of the 2013 Ford Focus ST hot hatch. Although not as exciting as their 2009 Ford Shelby GT500KR and clearly not offering anything groundbreaking in term of available maximum power or acceleration time, the new 2013 Shelby Focus ST Limited Edition brings you a nice design package with custom interior and some other enhancements.
With a production number limited to meager 1000 units this year and only 700 cars in 2009, the Shelby tuning specialist will have no problem selling its 40th anniversary Ford GT500KR stunner, even if the sports cars will still be offered at a whopping recommended street price of $79,995.
As it was expected, Ford has unveiled some new information on the upcoming 2007 Ford Mustang Shelby GT muscle car, which complements recently introduced highly exclusive 2007 Shelby GT500 and Shelby GT-H (designed for Hertz) stunners that were first presented last Spring at the 2006 New York Auto Show. Basically, the new Shelby GT is the same Shelby GT-H, except it can also be ordered with a sportier manual gearbox that increases the vehicle’s (and its owner’s) mojo by some 50 percentage points.
