Still saving hard-earned money for that ultra-limited edition Aston Martin One-77 monster of a super-car? Well, then Mercedes-Benz has got a good one to tempt you: its long-awaited 2009 Mercedes Benz SLR McLaren Stirling Moss is heading to the production line and, boy oh boy, there will be even fewer of them!
German uber-tuner 9ff has revealed technical specs and pricing info on its new masterpiece, the extravagant 9FF GTT 900, and the numbers are nothing, but stunning!
British tuning specialist Project Kahn now offers a customized leather interior for the gorgeous 2004 Aston Martin Vanquish S sports car. Featuring lots of leather and Alcantara of all shades and colors, as well as lots of contrast stitching unarguably done by a skilled hand, the custom interior makes a very strong impression, especially if you compare it to the stock one.
German tuner Mansory has already made quite a splash with its tuning programs for the new Bentley Continental GTC, as well as thanks to its Rolls Royce Phantom Conquistador one-off. This time they reintroduce their weight-saving Renovatio program for the famous Mercedes-Benz SLR McLaren supercar that now comes with a two-tone black&white paint job.
There are tuners, there are super-tuners, and there is 9ff. Some limit their efforts to body parts and some hire the best of the best engineers in their field to create extensive engine upgrade programs that turn mundane cars into low-flying jets. As you have probably already guessed, the German tuning specialist doesn’t waste its time and energy creating plastic body kits and exclusive velour floor mats. Instead, they turn your “ordinary” 2008 Porsche 911 into a rocket that takes less than five seconds to accelerate from zero to 200 kilometers per hour.
The German car manufacturer has finally revealed to the public some official info on, as well as photos of, its upcoming 2009 Mercedes-Benz SL 65 AMG Black Series super-coupe. Based on their current SL-Class coupe, the new vehicle not only offers you an aggressive body kit. The special edition vehicle also gives you one of the most powerful engines available for a mass-produced European car, which is coupled with a super-fast gearbox and super-effective brakes. Like a Rolex chronograph, this car is all about superlatives.
GM Asia-Pacific has built exactly 30 copies of its new 2008 Chevrolet Corvette S-Limited special edition model. Hardware-wise, these thirty stallions will be identical twins of a normal 2008 Chevrolet Corvette C6, but they will feature slightly different bodywork with re-sculpted front fascia, new rear spoiler and, of course, new mirror-polished and chromed exhaust tips.
The famous Japanese tuning specialist ASI has revealed its new ASI Tetsu GTR sports car: an outrageous tuning program for the 2008 Bentley Continental GT super-coupe. Although the Japanese word “tetsu” means “iron”, and although some purists may argue that covering a Bentley in gold lacquer is as vulgar as a platinum Rolex decorated with diamonds and pearls, I must say that the idea is not exactly off-center when it comes to highly expensive items. For many years, gold-top Gibson Les Pauls have been instruments of choice for many well-known guitarists, as are custom made grand pianos from brands like the Italian Fazioli Pianoforti, and even Baroque-styled furniture that even now often comes with gold paint on its surfaces.
The German-owned Italian brand has just revealed its new, limited edition version of the 2007 Lamborghini Gallardo supercar. Quite predictably, the vehicle will be lighter, stronger and faster than the, ahem, “stock” version Gallardo, which is by no means slow even though the bulk of transformations involves stripping dead weight from the interior and body with all of its high-performance components (i.e. the engine and exhaust system) basically left untouched.
The 2007 Audi R8 supercar, which is destined to fight its way through the ranks of such road warriors as the Italian Lamborghini Gallardo LP560-4, the British Aston Martin V8 Vantage and, of course, the stunning (albeit somewhat archaic in its design) German beauty Porsche 997 Carrera 4S, will feature a permanent 4WD quattro system with viscous coupling (it is reported to be outsourced from Volkswagen) and will be motivated by a 4.2-liter 420hp V8 FSI transplanted directly from the gorgeous Audi RS4 compact sports-sedan.
